Children's Parade!

 We "swept" everyone away with our "Surfin' USA" float at the annual Children's Parade yesterday! It was a crazy, busy, lack-of-sleep 5 days before the big event--but we pulled it off and even won the grand prize trophy! Everyone had a lot of fun (except for maybe the guys that had to haul this thing and the jeep!) surfing down the road!

 

 We cooled off with popsicles at the end and a trip to the pool! It was a great day to spend with a lot of our family and friends!

(Sorry about the pictures--I didn't get many good snapshots and I have spent the last few HOURS trying to put a video on here from my new camcorder and the whole thing froze up and lost all my work--I will try again later!)

City Carnival Anyone?

Not really sure about the local city carnival but....we do keep going back every year despite the carni-ness and dirtiness, overpriced rides and questionable attendees. I guess the kids had some fun though! The bubble guy was the best part of the whole event!

 Ethan went on this Pirate Ship/Jungle Gym thing with a big slide at the end a gazillion times I think...

 ...and unfortunately I didn't quite capture Sophia's look of terror on the rainbow that goes around and around--kind of funny, kind of tortuous--they all rode the little train before I whisked them all away to wash their little hands.

 OK--the snowcones on Grandma's porch, BBQ, and fireworks with lots of friends are really why we keep coming back! 

Why we LOVE Summer!

2. BBQ--Yes! Dad's cooking tonight--Mom's favorite shish-kabobs!!!
