One Mega-saurous party for our E-man-osaurous!

We had such a fun 5th birthday party for Ethan! Uncle Nate and Grandma Stewart even came into town for the big event (along with all the other big events that happen at the end of school!). I had a lot of help from all our family and friends--and I needed it with the 21 kids that came! Our neighbor drove them all in his Dino-ranger trailer out to our dig site. Amazingly, the kids found 100 little dinosaurs, an assortment of other bones (we're not sure which dinosaur they came from!), and even a giant T-Rex bone! Then we blew up volcanoes (diet coke and mentos) inside a volcano shell before they all made their own little volcanoes with baking soda and vinegar. Then we rode back to the house, played a dinosaur game with a 4 foot dino, silly string, and cardboard dino feet and water balloons! We dined on dino chicken nuggets, chips, and carrots, followed by presents, and ice cream cone cupcakes with otter pops! It was quite the event! They all got dino masks and other stuff in their party bags and we sent them home!!

 T-Rex bone!!!

He better not ever forget that one!!! We love you Ethan!!

School Talent Show

Sophia was selected as one of 12 students in the school to get to perform in the school talent show! We played a duet of "O When the Saints Come Marching In." We are proud of all her hard work and how hard she tries in school! I know this picture is terrible, but until I figure out my camcorder it will have to do!

Easter

My friend Emily did a "Peeps" contest--apparently these are big in some cities, even Denver, but I had never heard of it. Anyway, Ethan and I made him and entry that we called "Revenge of the Peeps!" We had fun doing it and are thinking of more ideas for next year! Here is our entry:

At the Neighborhood Easter Egg hunt:

Sophia even found the golden egg! Then we rushed off to soccer games! We hope everyone had a nice Easter Sunday--with family or friends, remembering our Savior and His sacrifice for us.

Spring Break in FLORIDA!!!

We just got back from a great trip to Florida! Here are some of the highlights!!!
The trip started a little slow with a delayed flight that caused us to miss our connection and then have a 7 hour layover--yikes, it was long and boring!

But we finally got on our way...
...and hit the beach the next day!!
Then on to Everglade city one day for an airboat ride and some alligator and other creature spotting!

a little too close for comfort for mom!

Travis has been getting the kids all excited by watching every episode of "Swamp People." Our guide (who I'm quite sure came straight out of the swamp--overalls and all, and was mostly deaf most likely due to long airboat rides (those things are LOUD!) did find us a gator!! Along with racoons, pelicans he had land on our boat, and a manatee. Here's the main attraction right by us!
Even some baby gators for us all to hold!

Some boogie boarding off the Naples Pier
Beach kids! These kids spent hours in the ocean--it was warm and perfect! We did our best to keep the sun block on!!
 Everyone wants to try!

A day at the local water park:

Drawing pictures on the place mat at the restaurant:
I decided that we ate some of the best food we've ever had (FISH!! and other yummy stuff) and the worst (too much McD's, etc. for me!)

This was usually the scene at the end of the day! We had a great time being with our cousins and we are ready for the summer!!!
